Between the Buried and Me, North Carolina's sensational metal artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Summit Music Hall!
Between the Buried and Me was formed in Raleigh (North Carolina) in 2000 and it currently consists of Tommy Giles Rogers, Jr. (lead vocals and keyboards), Paul Waggoner (guitars and backing vocals), Dustie Waring (guitars), Dan Briggs (bass and keyboards), and Blake Richardson (drums). The band is named after a line in a song (titled Ghost Train) by alternative rock band Counting Crows. While their musical style can be broadly classified as metal, it's best described as a blend of progressive metal (a fusion of heavy metal and progressive rock that combines the loud aggression and amplified guitar driven sound of the former with the more experimental, cerebral or pseudo classical compositions of the latter), technical death metal (a subgenre of death metal that focuses on complex rhythms, riffs and song structures), avant-garde metal, and metalcore (a broad fusion genre of extreme metal and hardcore punk, noted for its use of breakdowns, which are slow, intense passages that are conducive to moshing). They cite bands such as Metallica, Mötley Crüe, Queen, King Crimson, Soundgarden, Faith No More, Pantera, Pink Floyd, Depeche Mode, Earth Crisis, and The Smashing Pumpkins as their main influences. They’ve had a stellar career with 8 studio albums, 3 live albums, 2 compilation albums, 7 music videos, 1 extended play, 1 single, and 1 demo album.
Don't miss your chance to see these artists add a unique touch to progressive metal, technical death metal, avant-garde metal, and metalcore!
